The Importance of Prayer.
Why is it important to Pray and to encourage one another?Encouragement can provide people with strength to look ahead, move forward, and reach for the next goal. The whole emotional tone of a tough situation can be transformed through encouragement. Put another way, encouragement can help us do the things that we might not ordinarily do.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 β Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. This verse commands Christians to continue to encourage and lift up fellow followers of Jesus.
When we pray for someone else it draws us closer in relationships. Praying for your spouse, child, or friend helps them to see how much you love them. Almost no one you meet will decline being prayed over. Offering to pray for someone is a free and powerful gift you can give to anyone you meet. Encouragement solidifies and reinforces that “doing the right thing” – especially in difficult situations – is what matters most. Encouragement lets people know they’re on the right track, and helps them to maintain positive, ethical and productive work habits. Why are Christians encouraged to pray?
Prayer is important for Christians because prayer opens communication with God. Prayer strengthens our faith and trust in God. Prayer has the ability to help bring other people closer to God. You can share the gospel in many ways. First, just pray and fast for them so that their heart may open up to the gospel. Then the next time you meet them, open up topics and subjects that lead to a conversation about the gospel. Be sure to invite them to church or activities, and most of all, be friendly. The value of encouragement is that it reveals the value of the person. Notice that ‘courage’ is embedded in that word. Encouragement literally means βto give courage to another.β
It is a gift that gives them courage to believe they have value.
